The Children’s Hospital Charity’s virtual quiz, Theo’s Big Night In, is returning this Saturday evening (9th May) following popular demand.

Featuring guest questions from celebrities including BBC Breakfast presenter Dan Walker, Olympic Gold medallist Jessica Ennis-Hill and England Cricket Captain Joe Root, over 400 supporters of Sheffield Children’s tuned into the first quiz evening, raising over £3,000.

This weekend’s quiz promises to be even better, with rounds for all ages and abilities and a promise of plenty of laughs. Hosted from home by BBC 5 Live presenter James Gregg, viewers can comment alongside the broadcast via the live chat.

This weekend’s edition will also feature questions from the first British astronaut, Helen Sharman, former England Cricket Captain Michael Vaughan as well as famous faces from the world of art, TV and film.

During the coronavirus, The Children’s Hospital Charity are finding new ways to support Sheffield Children’s and Theo’s Big Night in is one of those initiatives to ensure fundraisers can still make a difference from a distance.

Myla-Mae Hatcher, a patient at the hospital, sent in her own question and played along with the last quiz.

The money raised from Saturday night will help to ensure there is no long-term impact in charitable support for Sheffield Children’s, ensuring that the hospital’s ongoing and developing needs continue to be met through this crisis and beyond.

Children and young people are travelling from across the UK to Sheffield Children’s even during the coronavirus pandemic. The hospital has doubled its intensive care capacity and will be carrying out all emergency children’s surgery and some high dependency that would have ordinarily taken place at surrounding hospitals across South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw.

Donations made to the emergency COVID-19 appeal can help fund additional resources to support staff wellbeing as well as craft activities, toys and games for young patients at this difficult time, with reduced contact procedures now in place for their own protection.

To join the quiz in support of Sheffield Children’s, visit www.youtube.com/SCHCharity/Live on Saturday 9th May at 7:30pm. To make your donation, you can visit this JustGiving page or text THEOSBIGNIGHTIN to 70085 to donate £10.
