The Leadmill is back!Posted by: Richard Abbey
It’s the news we’ve all been waiting for. The iconic city venue has announced its return after a five-month closure due to Covid restrictions.
After closing their doors back in March, The Leadmill will be welcoming the return of Sheffield's students to the city, as well as offering newcomers a chance to experience what makes the venue so iconic and cherished by all – even if it is going to look a little different!
The venue has been transformed in order to host a variety of socially distanced, seated events, ranging from comedy and drag shows, to live music gigs performed by various acts across the country.
The venue's notorious club nights have also been adapted to suit the new infrastructure – but the very core of what makes The Leadmill's entertainment unbeatable remains the same. Great music accompanied by fantastic people, in a comfortable, safe and exciting environment.
In what should have been a year celebrating the venue's 40th year of opening, this return will follow the longest period of closure that it has ever experienced.
Before the pandemic, the club was running 100 live gigs, 150 club nights, 50 comedy events and 50 other eventssuch as cinema screenings, quizzes and talks every year, including events in other venues and cities.
The team feel positive that they will eventually return to ‘normal’ but in the meantime they encourage you to have as much fun as possible, in the safest way possible! To find out how they are keeping their customers safe, click here.
