The Leadmill has today announced a series of three road closures to round off the end of their Freshers Week events for 2019. At the end of Freshers Week, Leadmill Road will be closed for Club Tropicana on the 26 September, Everything Now on the 27 September, and Sonic on the 28 September. The outside area will feature local food traders, an outdoor bar, covered seating areas, performers, beer pong + much more.

The outside area will feature local food traders, an outdoor bar, covered seating areas, performers, beer pong and a whole host of other stuff.

These events follow the successful road closure put on by The Leadmill for Saturday of Tramlines Weekend following Courteeners’ headline performance at Hillsborough Park in July of this year. The Leadmill saw thousands of happy punters enjoy the party and the upcoming Freshers Road Closures will follow a similar format, but this time across three consecutive nights.

Freya Gill-Stevens, Promotions Manager of The Leadmill says “These events will be an incredible way to start the new academic year. We’re pulling out all the stops to give everyone a Freshers Week to really remember! Having an extended outdoor area ensures people have space to move around, are able to get some air, and can get amazing street food all from inside the event!”

Meanwhile inside the venue new students to Sheffield will be treated with three massive club nights. Thursday 26 is Club Tropicana, The Leadmill’s legendary 80s Disco night out, Friday sees the launch of The Leadmill’s newest club night Everything Now! promising a non-stop mix of indie and pop bangers, rounding off the week on Saturday 28 September with Sonic, Sheffield’s biggest Indie night out.

Expect a range of surprises across the weekend, including street performers, confetti cannons, balloon drops, merch giveaways, free Freshers souvenirs, amazing drinks deals, free facepainting and more!

Tickets for each event are on sale now and are priced at £6 each. Advance tickets are expected to sell out, with space saved for people to also pay for entry on the door!

The Leadmill have ten events planned over Freshers Week including two free entry events on the 20 and 21 September, a Paint Party, Silent Disco, and Freshers Quiz. Full event information can be found on our website here.
