Following the announcement that the 36th annual Sheffield Chamber Music Festival could not go ahead at the Crucible Studio, the festival will take place online this weekend.

Sheffield Chamber Music Festival at home (#SCMFhome) will feature more than a dozen specially curated performances, talks and family events, all launching on the Music in the Round YouTube channel over two days on Friday 15 and Saturday 16 May.

This FREE online festival of music celebrates all things classical, orchestral and more, for the whole family to enjoy. Throughout Friday and Saturday, they will share live performances from world-class musicians, for you to enjoy from the comfort of your own home.

Amongst the packed lineup of entertainment is Naomi Athertone from Ensemble 360, who will perform pieces for horn in the Peak District sunrise, a family concert 'Sir Scallywag and the Battle of Stinky Bottom", folk singer Fay Hield, and two films from Mercury music prize nominee Gavin Bryars.

#SCMFhome is free to everyone, but Music in the Round will be running a fundraising campaign, to enable them to support our freelance musicians and so they can return to live music-making when venue doors reopen. Donations can currently be made here.

To watch the Sheffield Chamber Music Festival, simply subscribe to their YouTube Channel and tune in on the day to enjoy the videos. You can also follow them on Facebook and Twittter.
