Roundabout Christmas QuizPosted by: Richard Abbey
Pulp star Nick Banks will be helping to spread some early festive cheer as he hosts the first online Quizmas for Sheffield youth homelessness charity Roundabout.
One of the charity’s most popular annual fundraisers, Quizmas is usually a live event complete with pie and peas. But this year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the special Christmas quiz will be going online.
To take part, simply log on to Roundabout’s Facebook or Youtube pages at 6.30pm on Thursday 26 November and find Nick hosting the usual seasonal brainteaser, made up of four rounds of questions and a picture round too.
There is no charge and no prizes but anybody taking part will be encouraged to make a donation via the Roundabout webpage where they can also register their interest for the event.
“There are so many reasons why we hope our supporters will join us and our wonderful host Nick for this very special evening of festive fun,” said Roundabout events fundraiser Emily Bush.
“A £6 donation could pay for a fun baking session for a young person, teaching them new skills and improving their self esteem.
“For £15 you could make sure a young person enjoys a special Christmas day with a Christmas dinner and treats to enjoy through the day with friends.
“And £30 could pay for a mediation session to keep families together this Christmas.
“Quizmas is a great way to get the Christmas season going during these unusual times and also make a real difference to the lives of vulnerable young people at risk of homelessness in South Yorkshire.”
