The Village Screen are set to transform Abbeydale Picture House this December
The Village Screen is spreading festive cheer once again this year as they turn Abbeydale Picture House into a winter wonderland with a festive feast of cinema screenings alongside on Friday 20 and Saturday 21 December.
Visitors will find themselves entering a grotto of festivities as they enter a world of twinkling lights and Christmas trees, the perfect setting for a series of seasonal screenings that should be on everyone’s advent calendar.The celebrations kick off with Richard Curtis’ Love Actually on Friday 20 December, followed by a bundle of Christmas crackers on Saturday 21 December, starting off with a matinee screening of the hilarious tale of Buddy (Will Ferrell) as he sets off on to the mean streets of New York in search for his long-lost dad, in the family favourite, Elf.
Later, in an evening screening, watch a young, fresh faced Macauley Culkin as he tackles and outsmarts a pair of clueless burglars to protect the family home in everyone’s favourite action packed, Christmas adventure film, Home Alone.
Ahead of each screening there is the opportunity to saviour the Winter Wonderland experience, which will include a live band, street food vendors and a bar that will serve a selection of drinks including some winter warmers throughout the evening.

Tickets: Tickets are priced at £16.00 for adults, £14.00 for students and seniors (60+). There are also family ticket options available. Online booking fees apply.
Anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Love Actually - Doors at 18.30, film at 20.30. This film is classified 15. Classified 15 - Suitable only for 15 years and over.
Saturday 21 December
Elf - Doors at 14.00, film at 16.00. This event is suitable for the entire family, with a recommendation that children be a minimum age of 8 to get a great view of the screen.
Home Alone - Doors at 18.30, film at 20.30. This event is suitable for the entire family, with a recommendation that children be a minimum age of 8 to get a great view of the screen.
