The Upsetter stops off in Sheffield in March 2020

At the ripe-old age of 83, dub reggae legend Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry has announced he is set to perform at Sheffield’s O2 Academy on 26 March 2020, just days after his 84th birthday.

The Trojan label favourite heads to Sheffield as part of a UK spring tour, which also takes in Leeds, Birmingham and London, in support of his upcoming album, Heavy Rain.

The album, which is due for release in December, mostly features dub re-imaginings of tracks from his recent LP, Rainford, which was released in May this year.

The album also features a handful of original tracks and cameos from everyone from Brian Eno to reggae stalwart and Wailers trombonist Vin Gordon.

Tickets for the Sheffield show are on sale now, priced at £22.50. For more info head over to the event’s Facebook page.
