Hawley announces new Sheffield showPosted by: Ashley Birch
The Sheffield legend is coming to the Octagon in October as part of a new UK tour
Fresh from the huge success of Standing at the Sky’s Edge and the announcement of his new album, Richard Hawley has now revealed autumn tour dates with a stop off at Sheffield’s Octagon.
Tickets for the 11 October show go on general sale this Friday 17 May, but fans can access early bird tickets from 9am tomorrow (Wednesday 15 May) by pre-ordering the album.
If you’ve already ordered from the album, you will receive an email with details of how to access the pre-sale.
The UK tour, in support of new album Further, also takes in Dublin, Bristol, Manchester, London and Glasgow amongst other cities.
The Pitsmoor-born singer songwriter’s eighth studio album is due for release on 7 June and is a break with tradition, being his first not to be named after a Sheffield landmark.
“I really wanted to challenge myself to try to keep things relatively up-tempo and keep the songs to about three minutes long,” Hawley says: “I was asking myself ‘Can you get your message across like a bullet? Can you still do that?’ It’s quite a tough question to ask.”
