Nowt to do this week? If you’re bored of going to the same beer garden and bog-standard chain restaurants, discover something new with these five things to do in Sheffers from 12th – 18th August.

ROKiT Senior Snooker Championship

15th-18th August, Crucible Theatre

This week, the Crucible is playing host to The ROKiT World Seniors Snooker Championship. The venue will welcome legends such as Stephen Hendry and Jimmy White to join a field of 20 players from 16 countries who will battle it out over four days to see who will lift the Championship trophy.

If you know a young, budding Snooker fan, you can even bring them along to a morning session for free at one of the 10am sessions on Thursday 15th or Friday 16th August.

To purchase tickets, call the box office on 0114 249 6000 or visit the Crucible Box Office. This offer is not available to claim online.

Sheffield Carnival

Saturday 17th August, 12-8pm, Norfolk Heritage Park

Sheffield Carnival is back again, with this year’s theme being ‘Made in Sheffield’. The event is set to celebrate carnival arts and showcase local artistic talents through the creation of vibrant costumes, carnival themed dance, music, events, workshops and street parades.

Grab your costume and the kids and head down to Norfolk Heritage Park for a fun-filled day for all the family.

Hostile Takeover

Thursdays 5-9pm, Ambulo, Millennium Art Gallery

Ambulo’s Hostile Takeover will return this Thursday for an informal evening of foodie fun. Last week’s event featured a selection of meaty mains which were all available with a side of ‘bastard hot sauce!’ and we’re sure this week’s menu will be just as exciting.

Keep an eye out for Hostile Takeover menu updates on Ambulo’s Facebook page.
