Festival to go aheadPosted by: Richard Abbey
Despite the current lockdown, Sheffield Cathedral are pressing ahead with the Christmas Tree Festival - and you can still get involved.
Local businesses, schools and charities can all get involved by sponsoring and decorating one of 30 trees that will fill the interior of the iconic Sheffield building.
The festival is expected to run from 1 December and the public will be able to visit, free of charge, from 3 December if lockdown restrictions are lifted as expected. If not, the festival will take place virtually.
Trees are expected to be delivered by 30 November and if you would like to sponsor one, you can contact the Cathedral via email: firstname.lastname@example.org to find out more.
Trees can be decorated in any of the following ways.
1. Sheffield Cathedral will decorate the tree for you. Simply drop off your decorations and they will do the rest.
2. As volunteering is permitted, contact the Cathedral to arrange a time for your volunteers to visit to decorate your tree.
3. Assuming lockdown is eased from 3 December, Sheffield Cathedral will keep a tree for you so you can go and decorate it at the earliest opportunity.
