The Lyceum is back open for business with two huge touring productions arriving in August.
Hairspray (16-21 August) and Looking Good Dead (23-28 August) offer a combination of comedy, music, drama and more.
The fun-filled, feel good Hairspray has been hugely popular over the years and follows vivacious heroine Tracy Turnblad, who has big hair, a big heart, and big dreams to dance her way onto national TV, and into the heart of teen idol Link Larkin. When Tracy becomes a local star, she is able to use her newfound fame to fight for liberation, tolerance, and interracial unity in Baltimore. But can she win equality – and Link’s heart – without denting her ‘do?
Starring Brenda Edwards (Chicago, We Will Rock You, The X Factor) as Motormouth Maybelle, Hairspray features some of musical theatre’s biggest and best hit songs, including Welcome To The 60s, You Can’t Stop The Beat and Good Morning Baltimore that you can’t help but shimmy too!
There are thrills aplenty with Looking Good Dead, the world premiere stage production from number one best-selling author Peter James’ novel, starring award-winning actor and EastEnders icon, Adam Woodyatt and star of stage and screen Gaynor Faye (Emmerdale, Coronation Street, The Syndicate).
Adapted by award-winning writer Shaun McKenna, Looking Good Dead follows the huge stage success of The Perfect Murder and Dead Simple and will keep you on the edge of your seat until the chilling final moments.
