Billy Bragg has been a fearless recording artist, tireless live performer and peerless political campaigner for over 30 years. This weekend, he will perform in support of Sheffield's beloved music venue.

At 8pm on Saturday 16th May, Billy Bragg, singer-songwriter and political campaigner of over 30 years, will be hosting a Live Stream from his Facebook page. The live stream is in support of The Leadmill’s campaign, to raise vital funds for both the Sheffield’s iconic venue and the Music Venue Trust Crisis Fund.

The MVT Crisis fund has been set up to help and ensure that all of the UK’s Grass Roots venues that closed on March 23rd are able to re-open when it is safe to do so. Read more about the #SaveOurVenues campaign on VIBE here.

The Leadmill were planning on celebrating their 40th Birthday with a year long program of special events, but the Covid-19 crisis has forced the venue to close. They are now using some of the relationships built over the past four decades to help raise funds - both to keep their venue afloat, and to support the national initiative.

"We've had some amazing shows with Billy over the years at The Leadmill, and we were really fortunate to host 3 sold out shows with him last year," the venue says.

You can watch the live stream on Facebook here on Saturday 16th May at 8pm.
