Autumn at Chatsworth Returns With a BangPosted by: Maria Iliffe
Chatsworth's autumn programme returns with a bang as Halloween and Bonfire night celebrations take over the house, garden and farmyard this half term.
Visitors to the Derbyshire estate can expect frighteningly good fun with the half-term Halloween hoot and the long-awaited return of the spectacular Bonfire nights, including the spooky splendour of the first-ever Bonfire ‘fright night’.
From 23-31 October haunted happenings will take over the farmyard with plenty to keep little monsters entertained.
The ever-popular Halloween trailer will take off once again through the Warlock Wood which is being haunted by a gang of spooky characters. Those who dare must blast the ghastly gaggle with water to save the day.
Children can also get hands-on with petrifying pumpkin carving; come face to face with the real-life beasts of the farmyard, conjure up their creativity with Halloween crafts and explore the farmyard with the help of the spooky scarecrow trail.
Making a dazzling return 30 and 31 October is Chatsworth's bonfire celebrations. Guests can wrap up warm and enjoy two breath-taking firework displays along with a roaring bonfire. Live entertainment and roaming performers will make for the perfect party atmosphere.
Delicious food from hog roasts to churros and other treats will be available to keep visitors warm, as well as mulled wines and ciders for the ultimate autumnal experience.
In addition to the usual festivities, 31 October will see the Bonfire night celebrations transformed by a spooky soundtrack and ghoulishly good entertainment for the first-ever bonfire ‘fright night’. As the fire crackles, look out for the juggling skeletons, scary stilt walkers and a host of other spine-tingling surprises.
