The world’s biggest murder mystery company are bringing their unique detective adventure to the city-centre this May
Fancy yourself as bit of an amateur detective? Love a bit of sleuthing? Well, for all you amateur PI’s there’s a new city-wide murder-mystery game set to unfold in Sheffield this May.
CluedUpp, a murder-mystery company who organise events around the world, has announced they are returning to Sheffield with their newest interactive game on 11 May.
Previous events saw teams of detectives (at least two but up to six players per team) use their phones and CluedUpp’s award winning app to navigate and solve a mystery full of twists and turns that plays out across the city.
Prizes are awarded for the fastest team, best fancy dress (which is encouraged but not mandatory), best team picture and best team name, among other awards, and kids under 16 (and dogs) play for free but do not count within team numbers.
Their latest game, called Sneaky Finders, is based around the hit BBC-show Peaky Blinders and is set in the industrial town of ‘Millingham’, in 1921. A ‘feared resident has been poisoned’ and it will be your team’s job to discover the culprit.
Depending on how good a detective team you are, will depend on how long the event lasts. The event is scheduled to last anywhere between one and four hours - but CluedUpp advises the average squad of detectives take around two hours 20 minutes to solve the crime.
The idea for the events came from CluepUpp’s desire ‘to harness the power of the mobile phone for good rather than evil - by designing an alternative form of entertainment - fun, interactive, city-wide games that get people outdoors and spending quality time with their friends and family.’
The events have gone from strength to strength and is now played by over 20,000 detectives across the UK and Ireland and with events scheduled around the US they are now officially the world’s biggest murder-mystery company.
