The Coronavirus Directory helps connect the public with the independent businesses still trading in Sheffield.

The Independent Sheffield app, which aims to promote local independent business, has now created a Coronavirus Directory, that intends to connect the poeple of Sheffield with local business during this difficult time. The directory covers a wide range of takeaways, shopping delivery services, and businesses selling gift vouchers.

"Many independent businesses don’t have the cash flow to pay their bills and staff when they aren’t trading," the directory creators write. "Following advice from the government for the public to avoid pubs, restaurants etc, we’ve seen a change in the service they provide, mostly takeaways and deliveries. Whilst these businesses can provide services that avoid social interaction and help those in isolation, we will support them the best we can.

Since the announcement that the public should avoid eating and drinking out, many businesses have taken it into their own hands. It’s a fly-or-die situation and Sheffield won’t go hungry or thirsty thanks to these guys. You might not be able to wipe your bum but you can enjoy a pint from your local whilst staying at home."
