Phlegm is bringing his new show Mausoleum of the Giants to Sheffield in March
The Brazillian-born, Sheffield-based street artist Phlegm has announced a new spectacular sculptural installation titled Mausoleum of the Giants coming to Sheffield in March.
However the location of this new exhibition is for the time being a closely guarded secret, with excitement building towards the day of the announcement on 11 March 2019.
Five years after his Shoreditch solo showcase, “The Bestiary” and two years since he last worked in the city, Sheffield’s adopted son has created work on a new, grander scale.
Taking over the architecture with his murals and changing the entire field of view with his visuals, we’re told he has produced an incredible, immersive sculptural installation.
Massive sculptures occupy halls, corridors and rooms of an abandoned factory with their cumbersome bodies. Mausoleum of the Giants is expected to be a thrilling extension of Phlegm’s ongoing efforts to intertwine his surreal and highly imaginative work with existing deteriorating structures.
We reckon it looks class! Check back with VIBE for more details once the location is announced.
Mausoleum of the Giants will be open to the public Friday 15 March 15-Saturday 6 April 2019 (closed on Mondays and Tuesdays).
Opening weekend: Friday 15th 6-9pm Saturday 16th 11am-6pm Sunday 17th 11am-5pm
