Sheffield Handmade takes over Sheffield’s Winter Garden
The Winter Garden will play host to Sheffield Handmade during September.
Businesses from Sheffield’s Sellers on Etsy will be selling products made in the Steel City
Seven Sheffield businesses have joined forces to transform the Winter Garden into a pop-up shopping experience featuring products handmade in the city.
Open daily from 1 – 29 September, the #sheffieldhandmade store will be staffed by the owners of the businesses taking part, giving visitors the chance to meet and buy directly from the makers. The seven companies decided to collaborate after their owners met via the Sheffield Sellers on Etsy team, a local support network for designers, makers and vintage sellers who trade via Etsy.com.
The shops will be stocking a variety of Steel City products. From handcrafted cards and prints from Altered Chic, hats and hair accessories from Imogen’s Imagination, a range of Sheffield-inspired mugs and gifts from Sheffield Mug Co., unique wools and yarns from Homespunwonders, gothic home décor from Lil Miss Wednesday Designs, handmade sterling silver jewellery from Maxwell Harrison Jewellery and lovingly-made bags from Totes by Wendy.
Rob Duffin, owner of Sheffield Mug Co and team captain of Sheffield Sellers on Etsy said: “It’s really exciting to be setting up shop with such a diverse group of sellers; we’re all passionate about what we do and are really looking forward to offering people the chance to support several local businesses.”
