Paul Powers, owner and founder of powers martial arts centre in Stannington, with his gyms first world K1 kickboxing champion Alex Mackenzie.

Powers Martial Arts/Personal Trainers Inc. plan to take former members of the British Armed Forces out for a Christmas meal at the Old Horns Inn in High Bradfield

The search is on for five British Armed Forces veterans from Sheffield who would enjoy a Christmas meal with good companions at the lovely Old Horns Inn in High Bradfield.

Paul and Susan Powers, the owners of Powers Martial Arts/Personal Trainers Inc., want the veterans to join them at their staff Christmas meal on Sunday 1 December.

Paul says: “My father was in the Green Howards (also known as the Yorkshire Regiment). He served in Malaya and loved his time in the Army.

“So for my dad’s memory, and to show our thanks to our brave armed forces, we decided to try and find ideally five Sheffield veterans and take them with us on our Christmas meal.

“We are also happy to pick them up and run them home afterwards, so if anyone knows of any veterans who would enjoy a good meal and a few drinks with a nice group of people, please get in touch.”

If you know someone who fits the bill please contact Paul Powers on 07831 763688.
