The Hat Stand set to turn heads at Stockport Hat Museum
Three Sheffield milliners, also known as The Hat Stand, have been invited to showcase their work in a unique collaboration at the Stockport Hat Museum.
Amanda Moon, Siobhan Nicholson and Sophie Cooke have been invited to HATstock for a celebration of hats in the North.
The hat-trick (sorry!) of milliners each have their own independent Sheffield-based business but have collaborated for the past four years, working together as The Hat Stand, an annual pop-up shop in the Winter Garden. Now, the trio are heading to Stockport, spreading their pearls of wisdom beyond Sheffield.
Talking about the project, Sophie Cooke said: “It felt like a very natural and sensible progression for us to work together, but I’m only now starting to appreciate how that could be inspirational to others who want to maximize their own opportunities”
Stockport was once the heart of the hatting industry, with the museum being the only one of its kind in England. HATStock is the perfect opportunity for history lovers, fashion enthusiasts and those with a creative spark to see some incredible creations from milliners, both past and present.
HATstock takes place on Saturday 25 March and tickets are free. Registration will be required for events and individual talks.
