City-centre bowling alley opens next monthPosted by: Ashley Birch
Lane 7 has confirmed they are set to open the new Sheffield branch in December
A new city-centre ‘boutique bowling alley' has confirmed it is set to come skittling into the city-centre this December.
Lane 7, on Matilda Street, made the announcement on Facebook saying: “Boutique bowling is coming next month and while we line up the pins and polish our balls, there's one important thing you need to decide - who's on your squad?”
It was announced Last February, that new bowling alley would be joining The Moor as party of Stage Three of the area’s Heart of the City redevelopment, which has recently seen the opening of a new H&M store at the top of the street, where Redgates toy store used to be, and Monki’s opening on Pinstone Street.
The new bowling alley is about more than just pins though, with other attractions like mini-golf, retro arcade games and pool tables to Sheffield city-centre on the agenda, as well as burgers from Fat Hippo, who recently announced their collaboration with Lane 7.
Speaking in February, Charlie Snow, operations manager at Lane7, said: “We can’t wait to roll into The Moor. We’ll be bringing the whole shebang…walnut bowling lanes, retro arcades, karaoke, ping pong, pool and a full bar to offer. It’s going to be next level - watch this space!”
Lane7 already has branches in Newcastle, Birmingham, Aberdeen, Middlesbrough and Liverpool, plus plans to open in six more cities, including Sheffield.
