All change for Sheffield Quays hotel?Posted by: Richard Abbey
A new future for the landmark Sheffield hotel is starting to take shape.
The Quays Hotel – formerly the Sheffield Hilton which closed late last year – has re-opened its extensive leisure and health facilities featuring a spa, extensive gym and studios plus a 20m swimming pool to non-residents.
One of the UK’s leading independent hotel management companies, Legacy Hotels & Resorts has been appointed to re-open the 128-bedroom four-star hotel and leisure club over the coming weeks following its closure.
Legacy Hotels & Resorts Chief Executive Officer Andy Townsend said: “This is the first step for an exciting new future for the hotel. We know how popular the leisure area was for people from Sheffield and we are delighted that the facilities are up and running again. We expect to announce the reopening and new branding of the hotel in a couple of weeks.
“The hotel is a well-established addition to our portfolio, and we expect that it will reopen over the next few weeks. Over the years the hotel has been popular with guests, diners and leisure facility users alike. It has tremendous potential where we will also seek to build on its popularity as an event location.”
The club is offering a monthly membership deal of £32.50 until the end of March and then £35 per month from April. The facilities are open from 6am to 10pm weekdays and 8am to 9pm at weekends. Free parking for three hours is available in the hotel’s parking areas.
