The Mowbray, on Mowbray Street, Kelham Island
After a three-year restoration, one of the oldest buildings in Sheffield is being re-opened as an independent private events space including roof-top bar
The Mowbray, set to be Sheffield’s newest luxury lifestyle venue opens its factory doors this Sunday at 12pm for ‘LOVE’ – a champagne afternoon to showcase the new venue.
The venue on Mowbray Street will specialise in meetings, private dining, weddings, Christmas events and exhibitions and is sister to independently owned and award winning events venue The Chimney House, also in Kelham Island.
Lu Watson, assistant manager of The Mowbray said: “Expect brimming champagne saucers and treats from heads of The Mowbray’s Kitchen Emma & Matt Tophill-Reed.
“Explore the three year restoration of a building from 1889 and discover antiques and architectural lighting - including a gigantic feature chandelier built entirely from antique glass shells from the 1940’s.”
There is also a roof-top garden, ‘complete a work in grow-gress British blooms, herbs for the kitchen and bar’.
The venue has a capacity of 200+ guests (seated) and promises to attend to the smallest detail with creativity and flair.
You can enter a competition to win two invites for ‘LOVE AT THE MOWBRAY’ on Sunday here.
Also The Mowbray has shuffled their timings on Sunday afternoon from 12-2pm – so you don’t have to miss the World Cup final!
