The Cowshed on Ecclesall Road

Cowshed has been transformed into a traditional craft boozer and opens this Saturday

The Eagle Inn, from the team behind The Cricket Inn pub, officially opens this weekend (15 June) in the former Cowshed, on Ecclesall Road.

The Cowshed and Graze Inn on Ecclesall Road has long been a collaboration between Brew Kitchen and Thornbridge Brewery and while that collaboration is set to remain, both venues have embarked on a dramatic refurb which sees the two venues separated, with Cowshed totally rebranded as The Eagle Inn, a new traditional style pub focusing on craft ales.

Toby Hickman, The Eagles new general manager, told VIBE: “The Eagle will mainly focus on Thornbridge craft beers as well as having some guest ales on, and we’ll have a focus on speciality spirits and wines, harking back to a more traditional boozer feel.

“The change will allow us to be able to have more events, more pub quizzes, live music, and a lot more creativity over what we can offer.”

All of the cocktails at the Eagle will be removed, although Graze Inn will continue offering its extensive cocktail menu alongside its all-day-long dining hours.

Nothing structurally is set to change in the new bar, however they do plan to extend the outside area further down the line. On the inside however, the venue will be totally transformed with a full redesign. Toby tell us there’s even plans for a small deli area offering cold cured meats, pickled eggs, chutneys, pork pies and scotch eggs, cheeses and other tasty bites.

“I’m massively excited” says Toby: “There’s always a few butterflies but I can’t wait. It’s gonna be boss, especially when all the plans come together. There's loads of good places to drink on Eccy Road and we just want to add to that.”
