Plans for new luxury Meadowhall store include champagne bar
Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley’s Frasers Group are set to open the new store later this year
Frasers Group has revealed plans to open a new landmark luxury store in Meadowhall Shopping Centre later this year.
The 65,000 sq ft Meadowhall store promises a range of fashion and lifestyle areas across two floors, including a premium and luxury accessories hall, footwear, street and trend-led ready-to-wear areas, and beauty.
Luxury homewares will also be showcased in a new, interactive Frasers House area of the store, alongside a partner-led champagne bar and café.
Phase one of Frasers Meadowhall is set to open in early winter 2020, offering men's and women's fashion, premium accessories, footwear, ready to wear and Frasers House, as well as a beauty hall with cocktail bar and café.
The second phase, scheduled for spring 2021, will mark the launch of luxury British multi-brand retailer Flannels at the store. The brand currently has 45 stores across the UK, including a newly opened London flagship.
The Meadowhall store will be the first major covered centre for the recently launched Frasers brand. Sports Direct International rebranded to Frasers Group at the end of 2019 following the acquisitions of House of Fraser, Evans Cycles, Sofa.com and Game Digital.
Michael Murray, head of elevation for Frasers Group, said: "This is the first major site signed since announcing our plans for Frasers and we're proud to have acquired such a prominent location in one of the most forward-thinking schemes in the UK.
"We're committed to delivering an aspirational new store that will epitomise the exciting future of Frasers, as we look to move forward with opportunities – including the progression of our flagship site in Glasgow, as well as new Frasers stores in Belfast and Liverpool."
