New ‘coffee bar and kitchen’ opening on Division StreetPosted by: Ashley Birch
The new independent all-day venue opens on the street this month
Lonestar, a new independent ‘coffee bar and kitchen’, opens its door on Monday 17 September in the site of a former Costa Coffee, on Division Street.
The new venue is hoping to offer choice for every kind of visitor to the road, whether you’re after an early morning coffee, food-on-the-go or an evening meal of small plates or pizzas, there will be a bit of something for everyone. There will even be beers, wines and prosecco available until midnight, if you fancy a cheeky after work tipple (or two).
Operations director Conrad Nugent told VIBE: “There’s a point in the day, where you’re out shopping with your partner say, and you might want a good quality coffee, but your partner might want a glass of wine or a beer, or even some food.
“We thought we’d like to cater for the whole thing, hence Lonestar coffee, bar and kitchen. We’re just trying to mix it up and we’re hoping people will grasp it.”
The venue is promising top notch coffee from local roasters Forge, as well as a hot and cold grab-and-go section, serving up sandwiches, bagels, soups and other hot dishes. Then, from 4pm, they will move onto a larger menu based on freshly made small plates from around the world, as well as really good sourdough pizza.
“Everyone loves a pizza” says Conrad: “We’re coming into the autumn months so people will really want that sort of thing right now. It’s a really good menu. The food’s a little bit more interesting and it’s going to be good value for money.
“We want to try and create a new vibe on the street. Something different where we’re giving people choice. We love this city and it’s been good to us over the years.”
