New bar specialising in European beers in the works on West StreetPosted by: Ashley Birch
HOFFENBRAU is hoping to be open by the end of January 2020, subject to planning approval
The owners of West Street Irish bar Molly Malone’s have revealed plans to open a second venue on the road, with plans submitted to Sheffield City Council for Hoffenbrau, a new bar ‘specialising in European beers.’
The proposals seek to merge three units on West Street – Woody’s bar and a double unit which is currently Ryan Vintage – creating one huge European-style beer hall.
Marketing manager Simon Tomlinson said: “After the success of Molly’s we’re really excited for our second West Street adventure! We’ve spent the last six months visiting lots of different bars all over Europe to fine-tune our Hoffenbrau concept and we can’t wait to start work.
“West Street has always been at the heart of Sheffield’s nightlife and we’re confident this will be a jewel in its crown.”
Owners say the new venue will create 25 new jobs for the city and they hope to be open, subject to plans being approved, at the end of January 2020.
