There’s nothing quite like a cocktail in the sun and at The Closed Shop pub on Commonside – there’s plenty to choose from

The Closed Shop is located in Crookes, Sheffield on Commonside. They host a wide variety of drinks with an impressive selection of real ales, craft beer, speciality gins and ginfusions. You may have heard/attended their Commonside live sessions every Sunday where they host local artists 8-10pm with a happy hour on cocktails and beer from 6pm - if you haven’t yet been… you’re certainly missing out.


In their newest venture, they have provided you with one of the best cocktail menus in Sheffield! Their brand new menu consisting of 34 cocktails has recently been launched with delicious new classic cocktails, mocktails, espresso martini’s and spritz cocktails - they’re highly likely to have your desired go-to option. With all of this glorious sunshine we’ve been having, there’s no better time to work your way through the menu.


Cocktails have become a favourite amongst many and the cocktail craze is only set to get more popular as time goes on. With many variations of flavours to choose from, no matter what your taste is, there’s a must have option for you at The Closed Shop.


What better way to spend your time than in a quaint pub like The Closed Shop, with quizzes each and every Thursday at 8pm. This makes for the perfect time for you to socialise with friends and family whilst enjoying a cocktail or a few.

It is a real ale pub ran by Stancill Brewery. Stancill Brewery are an independent micro-brewery based in Sheffield, producing a suite of award-winning real ales, their premium Stancill Pilsner, the original Sheffield Lager and a growing range of expertly developed craft beers.

In 2016, they developed a brand new recipe to satisfy the thirst for a quality, independently produced 4% lager. Stancill Lager made history as the first lager to be wholly developed and brewed within Sheffield.

Their Barnsley Bitter also quickly became a firm favourite and now takes pride of place in their core range of award-winning real ales.


The Closed Shop are dog friendly and are in close proximity to Crookes Valley Park, making it the perfect destination after a walk with your much loved pup. With a generous beer garden for those sunny days spent wishing you had a pint/cocktail in hand, it acts as a great destination to enjoy with company.

The kitchen is currently closed for renovations but will reopen with a brand new exciting menu very soon, stay tuned.
