Something new is brewing in Kelham… From the team behind Peddler, Factory Floor – the UK’s first bar combining the best in drip technology, tank beer and audio – opens Friday 4 September.
Let’s start with the drips. Looking up at the bar your gaze is met by an unfamiliar system of apparatus – it looks more like a lab than a bar. But this elaborate set-up creates drinks unlike anything you’ve tasted before.
You’ll find a vast array of spirits, each the base for one of Factory Floor’s unique drips. The liquour slowly drips and is gently infused with a mixture of exotic fruits, herbs and spices before being drank straight or mixed. So far, so scientific.
The final phase is the garnish and Factory Floor has enlisted the services of Leaf & Shoot, Sheffield’s leading Bioponics lab, to create a bespoke vertical microgreen system where herbs such as fennel, coriander and red basil will grow, ready to add the final flare to your drink.
If it sounds complicated, it is, but the proof is in the tasting – we heartily recommend heading down this weekend and seeing what all the fuss is about.
The beer at Factory Floor is as local as it gets – brewed on-site by Neepsend Brew Co.
The sound system, on the other hand, has come all the way from Florida. Created by one of ‘the most innovative loudspeaker designers in the industry’, Tom Danley, you will be able to experience quadrophonic sound that moulds perfectly to its surroundings.
