Golden opportunity for pie loversPosted by: Richard Abbey
True North’s hidden golden pie will give whoever finds it free pie for a year!
In celebration of Pie Week, an annual food event which runs from 2-8 March, True North Brew Co is hiding a golden pie and several silver pies across its venues – and the lucky customers who find them will win big prizes including free pie for a year.
Executive Head Chef at True North Brew Co, Andy Burns, said: “Our customers love it when Pie Week comes around. It’s one of our most popular food events and we wanted to do something fun this year so we took a page out of Willy Wonka’s book.
“Come down to one of our venues and see if you’re a winner! We’ll also be serving up a selection of delicious pies all week with some new recipes you won’t have tried.”
Getting involved is simple. Customers can book a table or pop into their nearest venue and order a ‘Prize Pie’. If they find a gold or silver filling, they’re a winner! These specials will be available all week with a vegetarian option, too.
The prize for finding the gold pie is ‘free pie for a year’ and silver pies mean ‘buy one get one free’ on pies for a year. Winners will also get a personalised ‘pie-dentification card’ so they can claim their rewards all year round and the finder of the gold pie will also have their photo framed in the venue.
The Sheffield venues taking part in The Golden Pie promotion include The Old House, The York, Riverside Kelham, The Broadfield, The British Oak, The Punch Bowl and The Waggon & Horses. It’s expected to be a busy time so reserving a table in advance is recommended. Bookings can be made by calling your local venue or visiting the True North website.
