One of Sheffield’s best-known pubs for its live music scene in the city centre with an impressive beer garden

If The Washington in Sheffield City Centre could speak… boy would it have some stories to tell. With so much history, particularly when it comes to its stamp with music, this is a pub that opens late, blasts music proudly and offers a variety of drinks for all to enjoy - just what is needed for a highly successful pub.

The Washington pub is located on Fitzwilliam Street, right next to the popular bar area of Devonshire and Division Street in Sheffield. Like all great pubs, The Washington houses a wide variety of beers, wines, spirits and real ales. As great as the alcohol is (if you know you know), over all, The Washington has a great history of hosting popular live music events, with bands such as West Nuns having visited.

It is locally seen as one of the best live music pubs in Sheffield city centre and has become an iconic venue in Sheffield’s music scene. We highly recommend you check out one of their events (see bottom of article) or even just pop in after a day spent working, shopping or what ever you have been up to. The Washington is open 7 days a week with a few days open until 3am - perfect to dance the night away.

Enjoy the hot weather in their impressive beer garden, the perfect location to enjoy a pint with your friends and family. A sheltered space with a pleasing aesthetic, come rain or shine - it is idyllic. There’s few locations in and around Sheffield similar to The Washington.

At The Washington, they have a long history hosting the very best that there is. It has seen more than a few famous faces in its time, and was a regular watering hole for the likes of The Human League and Pulp.

The pub is known for its wide-range of gigs and events, supporting local talent as well as different acts from across the country. Their aesthetic in the pub fits perfectly with the live events they host - it is a great atmosphere to sit with a well earned pint after a long day. You can party well into the night at The Washington.

The venue is a little off the beaten track, which is just the way they like it - they sit at the bottom corner of Devonshire Green. With a generous beer garden and a dance floor, it acts as a great destination in the city centre to spend your evening. You’ll find a good mix of people of all ages enjoying their time in The Washington.
