While you’re studying in Sheffield, it’s important to scope out the best places to eat out.
After a long day of revising for exams, you need to let your hair down and find some delicious nosh to tickle your tastebuds.
Here are ten of the most popular places to eat out in Sheffield:
Joro is a super swish modern British restaurant with an eight course tasting menu full of local produce.
Based in the Krynkl shipping container development, you don’t want to miss this award-winning joint.
All the food is beautifully presented and delicious - you’ll definitely be coming back for more!
2. Cutlery Works
Sheffield was once famous for its steel production, and many household forks were stamped with the words ‘Sheffield Steel’. That’s why this place has a significant place in Sheffield’s history, and still continues to be significant for fans of its food!
The Cutlery Works was once a cutlery factory, and is now the largest food hall in the north of England.
Check out foods from 14 different international vendors located here. Try Scandi-Japanese mashup food at Konjo, where food is prepared over open fires.
Or sample authentic Szechuan cuisine at China Red. You can also get hold of Nashville-style chicken, sushi, pizza, Mexican, Thai and burgers here.
The Bullion chocolate counter will have you watering at the mouth, while Foundry serves up some of the best local coffee in Sheffield.
This is Sheffield’s oldest Indian restaurant, since it opened in 1967.
It offers a simple yet delicious menu, and is truly the best curry you’ll find in Yorkshire!
4. V or V
Whether you’re vegetarian or vegan, or simply a foodie keen to try new things, V or V is the one.
Its menu is innovative and exciting, and ever-changing.
The atmosphere is chilled, with coffee and brunch menus during the day and small plates for evening service.
5. Luke's Place
This one is a real gem. It’s a micro-restaurant that seats just 12 people, so it offers a more intimate, relaxed environment.
There's a 7 course tasting menu for just £30 and it consists of seasonal, foraged and preserved produce.
Every month there’s a different house natural wine, along with decent beers and cocktails.

For the best tacos and margaritas in Sheffield, look no further than Pina.
If you’re a fan of tacos and tequila then head to this Mexican bar. You won’t be disappointed.
Pina’s fresh, tasty, traditional Mexican food are just what you’re looking for.

8. Forge Bakehouse
Forge was once an unassuming bakery, before it started to function as a café.
These days, Forge café has monthly supper clubs, cocktails, burgers and shakes.
The freshly baked bread still takes centre stage, though. Make sure you take a loaf of sourdough or another treat back to your apartment at Novel’s accommodation for students in Sheffield.
Nonnas has been going in Sheffield since 1996.
It’s a firm favourite for fans of homey Italian food.
From 5pm to 7pm everyday, Nonnas offers £8 bowls of pasta.
We especially recommend the eight-hour slow-cooked Italian sausage with tagliatelle. Bellissima!
Kommune is a fantastic place set in the city centre of Sheffield.
Here you can try food from one of several vendors located in one place.
The food hall serves craft beer and cocktails, as well as food as varied as Vietnamese, Greek , Indian, Korean and American.
Keep an eye out for La Biblioteka, a specialist bookshop.
