With many city venues re-opening their doors on Monday 17 May, we pick our top five spots to start the day in style.

Let’s be honest, beer gardens are lovely but when the weather is not at its best, there’s no better place to be than inside your favourite venue with your friends enjoying some delicious food and unlimited cocktails.

Drinks retailer The Bottle Club recently uncovered which cities in the UK were the ‘Best of the Brunch’ when it came to offering the best boozy, bottomless brunches. Sheffield of course featured on the index and they compiled a list of the ‘top five spots for a boozy, bottomless brunch in the city’. Here’s who they picked.

Cubana, Leopold Street
Taking the top spot for Sheffield was Tapas bar Cubana, based in Leopold Quare, which scored a huge 70 out of 100. It scored particularly well on dish variety… and who’s surprised? They are a tapas restaurant, and that’s why their bottomless brunch is so great!

Offering a Cuban-inspired bottomless brunch, from £28.50 per person, you can enjoy bottomless Prosecco, Mimosas, Bellinis and Aperol Spritz with an appetiser, and two choices of hot or cold Tapas dishes.

The Botanist, Leopold Square
Second on the list was the Botanist, also in Leopold Square. Scoring 65 out of 100, they received the highest score in the study for Instagrammability and great customer reviews. So if you fancy updating pics on your social media, this is the place to go.

You can choose from a selection of fab brunch dishes including, Full English, a Nutella and Biscoff triple-layered French toast, and Pancakes with fresh berries served with crème fraîche and maple syrup, washed down with bottomless Prosecco or Aperol Spritz, for 90 minutes from ordering.

The Lost and Found
In third place was The Lost and Found, a Victorian-inspired quirky bar with a secret – their heavenly brunch! Scoring 64 out of 100, it has a great variety of dishes and its set-up is divine, giving you a distinctive blend of rustic and glamorous; glittering chandeliers and elegant furnishings with a botanical backdrop – the perfect place for your first brunch catch up.

Choose from free-flowing Prosecco, Mimosas or Bloody Marys alongside a varied menu ranging from classic options such as smashed avocado on sourdough toast to more intriguing dishes such as the Turkish eggs (poached eggs served on toast with whipped yoghurt and chorizo butter).

Or for an extra sweet treat, indulge in their decadent buttermilk pancakes with banana, maple pecans and chocolate sauce. Prices from £28 per person.

Pitcher and Piano
Nestled it the heart of the city centre, enjoy sophisticated bites and bubbles at Pitcher and Piano. Scoring 61 out of 100 in the study it ranked particularly well for their drink variety. This brunch is the perfect place for you to escape to a luxurious venue for a much-needed catch up with friends.

Brunch at Pitcher and Piano offers unlimited Prosecco, bellinis and mimosas alongside a mouth-watering selection of food including solid meaty breakfasts choices with sausage, bacon and burgers, their indulgently runny Eggs Benedict or veggie choices including Mushroom Madame, Avocado Sourdough and Veggie Breakfast.

Known for ten years and loved by locals, HowSt offers made the final top spot in the study. A wonderfully creative brunch with fabulous flavours, and of course a great vibe it scored 56 out of 100 in the study, scoring particularly well for its value for money – £25pp – and dish variety.

HowSt offers traditional brunch items like royale eggs florentine or their ‘weekend meaty’– also known as a full English – every weekend. Customer favourites include the Tom and Beni – smoked bacon, poached eggs, tomatoes, hollandaise and virgin mary sauce on toast.

For an hour and a half, you can enjoy bottomless prosecco or lager, or if you are feeling a little more extra, upgrade to bottomless cocktails.
