Meals on Heels, a special ladies' lunch and shopping event in support of St Luke's Hospice, has raised £16,000
The event at Sheffield United’s Bramall Lane Platinum Suite included coffee and mince pies, a three course lunch, gift shopping, a champagne bar, raffles - one sponsored by Mulberry - and an auction with prizes including a holiday, Wimbledon tickets and afternoon tea for four at The Ivy.
The lunch, attended by 350 guests, was organised by voluntary fundraising group FFCC chaired by Julie Pickering, who has held the event for 30 years.
“We were delighted to support St Luke’s and the lunch was so oversubscribed that we have decided to hold it for two days in 2019,” said Julie.
“This year we will be hosting the lunch on both November 28 and 29, once again at Sheffield United to fundraise for St Luke’s and we are thrilled that we already have reservations for 40 tables.
“We have more than 50 tables available over the two days but it’s best to book early as demand is always high”
St Luke’s Community Fundraising Manager Megan Senior commented: “This was a fantastic result and a great outcome to a very special occasion.
“This money really will make an enormous contribution to the work we do with all St Luke’s patients and their families.”
