Have a read about why you should pay a visit to The Druid Inn

If you are seeking locally sourced food cooked with care and passion or a pint of well kept beer after a long walk in the Peak District, then The Druid Inn is the perfect choice.

Located in the charming hill village of Birchover, Derbyshire, this beautifully renovated historic inn is just minutes from attractions including Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and the market town of Bakewell.

A short walk away is the mysterious plateau of Stanton Moor, with all its Pagan history, and neighbouring Rowtor Rocks made famous in the cult film “The Princess Bride”

The Druid Inn offers an adventurous selection of wines and beers plus award winning food in an atmosphere of unpretentious fine dining. From game inspired dishes to pub classics, with a modern twist, we aim to satisfy the most discerning diner.

Our dishes contain the very best local and seasonal produce to create traditional pub food with a modern twist. Our head chef Ian, along with award winning event caterer Nicholas, have created a menu that showcases the quality of produce from our local suppliers and further afield. Game is a particular favourite when in season. We firmly believe our food is second to none in the area.We also recently purchased some land nearby where we rear our own Belted Galloway cattle. One dish that benefits from the quality of this meat is our famous “Beltie Burger”. Delicious with our home made triple cooked chips and green tomato relish. An ideal dessert to follow is the “Mushroom” which really is a visual treat and a delight to eat.

Douglas and Nicholas moved to Birchover some 6 years ago seeking a more rural and quieter lifestyle away from the hustle and bustle of London. Douglas left The Travellers Club after 25 glorious years and Nicholas sold his award winning catering company enabling them to make the move. Along with their two Labradors they settled in the permanent sanctuary of the Derbyshire Peak District. The plan was to utilise their combined experience to take on a new project which became The Druid Inn. Douglas and Nicholas are passionate about the future of the pub and are using their wealth of knowledge to make The Druid Inn a welcoming hub for locals but also an exciting destination for visitors
