The popularity of one of Sheffield's largest independent venues has spread as far as Spain!
Seven members of Cubana’s staff were personally invited to visit La Rioja’s famed Carlos Serres winery after the vineyard heard the Leopold Square venue was looking for exciting new varieties for their customers.
They watched the wine making process from the harvesting of the grapes to the bottling of the wine and got to sample varieties they are confident will be a hit with audiences in Sheffield.
Cubana staff were particularly impressed by the Crianza variety – a Rioja aged for at least two years - which they believe will be the perfect compliment for their authentic and varied tapas menu.
Thirteen different wines from Carlos Serres were put through their paces and four are now on the brand new Cubana’s latest and most exciting menu yet.
Cubana's Adrian Bagnoli said: "We are totally passionate about only serving the very best wine at Cubana and it was an honour to be invited over and to watch the process first hand. We were particularly impressed that the century old winery still respects the legacy and traditions of its founder, Carlos Serres.”
Cubana are proud of its ever-growing world selection of wines offered to customers which include everything from Italian Morellino di Scansano to the Pulpo from Rías Baixas in Spain.
