Emma Stanworth has the world at her feet and no shortage of fabulous shoes to step out in.
Three years ago she opened Poshu, hoping to plug a gap in the designer footwear market. Her business has become so successful that Emma is now planning to open a second Poshu shop somewhere in the North West. Excited? You should be.
The sleek shop in the Lancashire village of Whalley near Clitheroe may be small and minimalistic but it glitters with gorgeous girlie shoes and must-have handbags.
“I like to think that customers who have made the effort to travel to the Ribble Valley to find the shop are delighted when they come in and look round. Customers comment on the atmosphere, love what they see and they keep coming back,” added Emma.
Famously, model and reality television celebrity Jodie Marsh popped into Poshu and bought some peacock feather shoes. Customers can expect to pay between £200 and £700 for a pair of stunning designer heels and anything from £150 to £1,000 for a must-have handbag.
“Women like nice things and they like nice shoes and bags. It’s a fact of life. Young women in their late teens right through to women in their seventies want to own and wear beautiful shoes,” said Emma.
