Tavern Garage Group, a family-run group of five garages in Sheffield and North Derbyshire, are ensuring NHS staff and other key workers are kept safe and on the road.
When Community Nurse Samantha felt her car’s brakes needed urgent attention she realised she would have a very narrow window to get them looked at - In the current coronavirus crisis she was working long hours with only limited time off.
Fortunately High Bank Service Station on Wisewood Lane was able to help. High Bank is a member of the Tavern Garage Group – a family owned group of six local garages – all of which currently prioritise the vehicles of NHS staff and other keyworkers, offering quick and flexible appointments to suit their busy work schedules. Samantha was able to arrange to take her car in on her next day off, have the brakes looked at immediately and collect it shortly thereafter, with the use of a courtesy car.
As High Bank manager Carl said ”We have joined the effort to help NHS staff and keyworkers keep their cars on the road. In line with government guidance, we are remaining open to carry out vehicle maintenance, repair work and MOT testing. We have implemented a range of additional precautions to prevent the spread of this virus and protect the health and wellbeing of our staff and customers.”
“At this time we are prioritising NHS staff and keyworkers and we have seen an increasing demand for urgent repairs from doctors, nurses, admin staff, shop workers and delivery drivers – all of whom rely on their cars to get to work. We are delighted to have been able to help keep Samantha on the road so she can carry on with her vital work without disruption.”
