The Magic Toy Shop promises to be a treat for youngsters - and their parents
Family fun at Barnsley's Civic Theatre
Barnsley Civic Theatre has a magical treat in store r youngsters with their Christmas show, the Magic Toy Shop
This year the Civic and Little Blue Monster (the company behind Dogs Don’t Do Ballet, The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark, & How to Catch a Star) have teamed up to present an enchanting story of Charlie, a budding magician on a magical mission.
Charlie Hubble is a little boy with a very big dream, he wants to be a world-class magician, so he saves up his pocket money to buy The Big Book of Magic for Trainee Magicians.
Then he sets off to Mr Zacoor’s Magic Toy Shop to buy his spell book. But Mr Zacoor is no ordinary shopkeeper, he’s a real life Magician! And he has a very special job for Charlie.
This delightful new show comes to life with an irresistible blend of catchy songs, puppetry and storytelling. There’s also an enchanting toy shop setting filled with all sorts of magical surprises!
A theatre spokesman said: “Fans of Harry Potter, The Worst Witch, Budding Magicians and anyone with a little bit of magic in their hearts will love this this funny, heart-warming tale. With both matinee and evening performances throughout December this is a great Christmas show for little people aged 3+ but big people will have lots of fun, too. The perfect family treat!”
