Rain Rescue's desperate appeal for dog

Could you give Lucy a new home for 2018?

Rotherham animal charity appealing to find Lucy the Lurcher a new home

"With less than a week to go before Christmas, maybe we have to face facts that it’s unlikely Lucy will be adopted before Christmas, but we are crossing our fingers and toes that she can find a home before the new year and start 2018 with a loving new family." says Lauren, deputy manager at Rain Rescue.

"Lucy has been with us for some months now and is so overlooked. She’s a friendly girl who came to us in heartbreaking circumstances when her elderly owner was too ill to care for her any longer. We expected her to get snapped up as she’s a pretty girl who has a waggy tail for everyone she meets but the right home just hasn’t come along.

"She is a typical lurcher in that she’s what we call a 100mph couch potato. She loves to get out for a good walk but will then equally enjoy getting snuggled up on a sofa and snoozing the day away."

Lucy is just one of over 400 animals saved by the charity in 2017. If you can give her or any of the other dogs and cats in their care a home, please get in touch by emailing enquiries@rainrescue.co.uk or by calling 07725888207.

The charity also launched its annual Christmas Dinner Appeal earlier this month. Just £5 will buy christmas dinner for a homeless pet, and ensure they are kept safe, warm and healthy this winter.

To make a donation to The Christmas Dinner Appeal please send cash or cheques payable to ‘Rain Rescue’ to Summerfield Lodge, Moat Lane, Rotherham, S66 1DZ - or text DINN55 £5 TO 70070 to give £5 (Text costs £5 + one standard network rate message).

Alternatively visit the Rain Rescue website for more information about the work they do.
