See one of the most iconic images in the world at RHS Garden Harlow Carr this New Year
Don’t miss the chance to see one of the most iconic images in the world: ‘The Great Wave off Kanagawa’ at the RHS Garden Harlow Carr from 4 January - 13 February 2020.
The beautiful print is one of 20 stunning landscape prints which will be on display during a six-week Japanese art exhibition in the Harrogate garden’s historic Bath House.
Made in Japan using traditional Japanese woodblock printing techniques, visitors can see this beautiful collection created by Master Katsushika Hokusai (1760 - 1849), best-known for the woodblock print series Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji which includes ‘The Great Wave off Kanagawa’, the piece which secured his fame both within Japan and overseas.
A ‘pop up’ of The Japanese Shop will sell a variety of authentic Japanese gifts, from kimonos and authentic tableware to origami kits and Japanese kokeshi dolls.
The exhibition runs from 10am - 3pm. Normal garden admission.
