Chophaus summer menu brings the wow-factor.

Trailblazing North Leeds restaurant Chophaus have bounced back triumphantly from lockdown with an enticing range of summer menus worth shouting about. The stunning new collection from the popular Oakwood steakhouse is by far their most ambitious to date, and is peppered with inspiration and ingenious flavour combinations.

Once again making the best use of the freshest local produce, Chophaus have spent their lockdown time wisely, creating truly memorable plates for every taste palate. Steak lovers in particular are in for a treat, as the summer 2020 offering also brings a mouth-watering Wagyu section to the already stellar selection of Yorkshire beef cuts.

Diners will find it difficult to skip starters upon their next visit, with tempting dishes such as Tuna Tataki blessed with avocado, edamame, lotus root, lemongrass and coconut oil on the menu. Other highlights include a Guinness Rarebit Éclair with wild mushroom, seared beef and truffle, and a vitamin-packed Super Bowl with quinoa, pickled beets, feta and pomegranate.

The mains menu is laced with delights from both land and sea, including Pork Ribs with mustard, honey and soy glaze served with an apple and orange herb salad. The Chicken and Chestnuts Roulade comes with a side of seasonal veg, pancetta, lemon emulsion and sage, whilst the hearty Lamb Rump is served with braised sweet heart cabbage, cannellini, broad beans and jus.

Seafood is also very well represented, with the Whole North Sea Lobster poised to be future Chophaus classic. This show-stopping dish pays homage to Asian cuisine and includes dashi broth, wakame, pickled clams and shiitake mushrooms. Meanwhile, the Sea Bream tips its hat to French gastronomy with its fondant potatoes, courgette, tomatoes, capers and brown shrimp.

The revised steak menu has retained its premium 28-day dry aged cuts and salt aged sharing steaks, whilst also bringing a small yet perfectly formed selection of Yorkshire Wagyu to the party. Nicknamed ‘super beef’, Wagyu originates from Japan and is defined by its rich marbled texture and bold, juicy flavour. Wagyu options include rump, sirloin and a rib-eye that promises to melt in your mouth faster than a snowflake.

The new menu will also be complemented with some fantastic new desserts, cocktails and an all-new lunchtime menu. Guests will have the option to dine across both floors of the stylishly furnished restaurant, or alfresco on the terrace when the sun is shining.

Since making their debut back in winter 2019, Chophaus have gone from strength to strength, winning over a loyal customer base throughout North Leeds and beyond. When the restaurant was forced to close due to the pandemic, Chophaus managed to successfully drum up demand for their now legendary lockdown Sunday Roast which they delivered to homes across the city. The roasts sold out on a weekly basis throughout spring.

Chophaus regulars will be pleased to learn they can now enjoy their Sunday Roast back in the restaurant, with an updated menu to reflect the new Wagyu offering. Time and care has also been taken to ensure the restaurant not only meets, but exceeds the safety measures set out by the government to tackle the ongoing COVID crisis.

Guests will be asked to sanitize their hands on arrival, and service will be restricted to tables only. The in-house team will all be wearing masks and gloves, and all areas of the venue will be cleaned thoroughly on a regular basis.

Speaking ahead of the launch, Chophaus general manager Salvatore Cataldi, said: "After a somewhat challenging 2020, I’m proud to say that the Chophaus team have pulled out all the stops to ensure our comeback is nothing short of a triumph. The response to our lockdown Sunday Roasts was phenomenal, selling out every week. It not only lifted our spirits during tough times, but our customers too. The feedback was incredible.

I’d like to say a big thanks to everyone that’s supported us along the way, and can’t wait to see you all back in the restaurant. If you’ve loved Chophaus so far, you’ll be blown away by our new menus. From Yorkshire Wagyu to our exceptional new seafood dishes, we’ve gone to great lengths to deliver the best version of Chophaus yet. North Leeds is in for a treat."
