Richard Hunter as Dame Fanny the cook

Leeds panto lovers can get their fix early as the first pantomime of the year opens at the City Varieties Music Hall.

It’s less than 60 days to Christmas! The chocolate reindeers are on the shelves, the decorations are in the shops and the countdown is on for festive food, fun and that great British Christmas tradition, the Pantomime – oh yes it is!

But you’ll have to be quick; catch family favourite, Dick Whittington and his Cat, on Saturday 10 November for two performances only.

Telling the legendary tale of the poor boy who sets off to London where he believes the streets are paved with gold, this show contains all the traditional hallmarks of a good pantomime; jokes, dames, music and song, custard pies and a slapstick version of The 12 Days of Christmas.

Performed by On Stage Productions Dick Whittington stars local actors including popular Panto Dame Richard Hunter and Scarborough comedian – back for his eighth pantomime with the company – Dale Ibbetson alongside a supporting cast of pantomime favourites supported by an ensemble of Leeds youngsters.

Tickets are priced from £19.60. Book online at cityvarieties.co.uk or call 0113 243 0808.
