Children's favourites heading to Northallerton

Posted by: Sam Pegg

CHILDREN’S TV stars are heading from the screen to the stage at a North Yorkshire festival this summer, bringing a packed programme of fun for the whole family.

The North Yorkshire Music Festival will take over Canada Fields Caravan Park, Northallerton, from 13 to 15 August, with a whole host of DJs, singers and acts performing across the weekend.

And organisers have made sure there’s something to entertain festival-goers of all ages, with a line up including Peppa Pig, the Military Wives Choir and two time BAFTA winning duo Sam and Mark.

Fans of Cbeebies will be able to see loveable bunny Bing when he takes to the stage on Saturday, or head to the Let’s Circus workshop to try their hand at a new skill and enjoy some roaming performances.

Little music lovers will also be able to hear songs from their favourite chart toppers, with tributes to Taylor Swift and Youtube star Jojo Siwa staging their greatest hits.

The following day welcomes Classic BRIT Award winning Military Wives Choirs, which now has more than 70 groups across the UK, and popular presenters Sam and Mark, who have hosted a string of successful shows including Crackerjack, Do Something Different and TMi.

The official Peppa Pig will be taking a break from the screen to visit the festival and little ones can also enjoy a special show from Dino Live, featuring animatronic dinosaurs and hatchlings.

And music fans can hear their favourite songs from a trio of top tribute acts, including Ariana Live, Mac*Busted and Little Fix.

Paul Waite, CEO at ISG – which organises the festival – believes the event ticks all the boxes for families.

“We’re delighted to be bringing a brand new festival to Northallerton and it was really important to us that there was something for all ages to enjoy across the weekend,” he said.

“Our line-up has a combination of live music and tv favourites which are sure to put on an excellent show and create a real party atmosphere.

“There’ll be plenty to do across the site and we have a fantastic street food and drink offering lined up, along with a wide variety of stalls and a fun fair, so it’s shaping up to be an amazing day out for the whole family to enjoy.”

Weekend tickets for entry to all three days are priced at £85 for adults and £60 for 3-17 year olds, while day, camping and parking tickets are also available.
