The third instalment of LOL Comedy Club comes to the first direct arena on Friday 8 February

Taking place in the intimate setting of the arena's FD Bar, LOL Comedy Club is a very welcome addition to the Leeds comedy scene. Starring Daliso Chaponda, Chris Washington, Peter Brush and Damion Larkin (MC), it’s not one to be missed.

You’ll recognise Daliso Chaponda from placing third in Britain’s Got Talent 2017. Not many comedians are a raving success in every continent, but Daliso has breezed to success just about everywhere.

Beginning his comedy career in Canada at the prestigious Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal, subsequent appearances including CBC Television’s ‘Trans Canada Comedy Trail’ confirmed his position as Africa’s top comic.

He also received a golden buzzer from Amanda Holden in the 11th series of Britains Got Talent. She later added, “He’s self-deprecating, funny, relevant - laugh after laugh after laugh. It just kept coming. And I really want him to win the entire series. I think he could".

The 38-year-old comedian from Malawi has won over millions of fans with his cutting remarks about living as an African in Britain.

Since then, he's gone on to great success, with his new BBC Radio 4 show Daliso Chaponda: Citizen of Nowhere and his first world tour.

Also making an appearance is Edinburgh Comedy Award Best Newcomer Nominee, Chris Washington.

Taking the comedy industry and audiences by storm, with bags of northern charm, he’s fresh from a hugely successful debut run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Likened to a “Peter Kay for the smartphone generation”, Chris has proved he’s a definite one to watch. A favourite on the live circuit he’s already supported the likes of Jason Manford and Tom Stade on tour.

A highly distinctive performer and deft writer of finely crafted jokes, Peter Brushunassumingly takes the stage with his slight bespectacled frame and scruffy hair, before consummately conquering it with an arsenal of razor sharp quirky one-liners and peerlessly original routines.

“Brush is an imaginative writer of gentle but funny absurdity. He has a touch of Paul Merton” – Chortle

Damion Larkinwill act as MC, often improvising his entire set to hilarious effect. A versatile and creative comedian who always leaves audiences wanting more.

All line ups are subject to change, but don’t worry, they’ll only ever be replaced with someone just as funny!
