This spring bank half term sees the return of the Enchanted Fairy Forest event at the Tropical Butterfly House between Saturday 25 May and Sunday 2 June 2019.
Join fairy guided walks through the Enchanted Forest and experience a magical fantasy world of tiny pixie dwellings, friendly dragons and fairy hideaways. FREE Fairy guided tours take place between 10.30am - 11.45am, 12.45pm - 2.15pm and 3.15pm - 5pm.
Families can also follow the fun family trail to find the different fairies who are guardians of the animals around the wildlife park such as the Feather Fairy who watches over the birds here at the centre. Find all the fairies and enter a ‘fairy selfie’ competition explaining which fairy guardian you would be and why?
Come in your finest fairy dress - are you a dragon, pixie or goblin? - and make a magical memory at the Elf and Fairy selfie stop or get creative with face-painting, fairy door decorating and fairy inspired arts and crafts.
Watch the spectacular free-flying bird and animal displays where the Fairy Guardian of the Enchanted Forest is in peril from the Goblin King. See her at our fantastical Fairy Antics bird and animal displays where owls, parrots, rats, skunks, macaws, egrets and a vulture will all be helping ... or hindering the Fairy Guardian. Join in and use your special magic to help her save the enchanted forest.
Kim Bellis, Managing Director of the popular wildlife attraction says:
“This is my favourite event of the year and this year we’re delighted to reveal a special treat for unicorn lovers - our very own Shetland Pony Corrie will be transformed into this magical creature for meet and greet selfies! There is so much for boys and girls, including those that have never grown up, to enjoy throughout the park.”
There is also the usual school holiday family fun activities including animal encounters, tractor trailer rides, Realms of Camelot play park, wet play and picnic area and the chance to meet Rexy the friendly T-Rex on the Dino Trail! Take a seat up top on the Big Red Bus, this popular snack stop is open daily.
The event coincides with the British & Irish Association of Zoos & Aquariums (BIAZA) ‘Love Your Zoo’ week during which members of the public are encouraged to visit their local zoo and or aquarium and learn about the amazing work they do, particularly when it comes to conservation. Grab a sticker on arrival!
The Enchanted Fairy Forest takes place daily from Saturday 25 May to Sunday 2 June 2019, 10am – 5.30pm, normal admission charges apply. You do not need to book on a fairy guided tour but please be aware spaces per tour are limited.
