Crowdfunder launched for activities for Disabled young people

darts – Doncaster’s community arts charity – has launched its first ever crowdfunding campaign. Funding is needed to run regular Saturday Art Club sessions for Disabled children and young people. These sessions are a vital opportunity for Doncaster young people to socialise, make new friends, build confidence and develop new skills.

Ben is a regular attender of previous activities and Sharon, his Mum, has written a Blog to launch the campaign and tell others how much it means to them as a family to come to creative activities at The Point. She says:

“The world that you have created at The Point is fantastic. The opportunities that darts staff and artists have provided over the years has given us so much as a family…The Point is one of the most beneficial places with the most beneficial events I can think of. I can’t sign its praises highly enough!”

You can read the full blog on the darts website here: https://wearedarts.org.uk/blog-all-aboard/

darts needs as many pledges as possible – whether £2 or £2000. You can also provide support by liking and leaving positive comments on the campaign page. The more pledges the project gets, the more likely it will also be offered match funding from Doncaster Council through The Doncaster Movement.

darts believes that all Doncaster children and young people should have equal access to high quality arts, creative and cultural activity, regardless of ability or need. If this project reaches its target, Disabled children and young people will be able to access free regular sessions led by professional artists and will be able to try new dance, music, sculpture, making and drama activities at The Point – a fully accessible building in the centre of Doncaster with a Changing Places facility.
