Brag Vintage on High Street
In her guest blog Becca Linnard from Brag Vintage talks denim
Mom jeans have been the holy grail to vintage hunters for a long time and are one of the most recent trends to explode on the high street.
By trumping skinny jeans in the comfort stakes they offer a refreshing looseness around the leg but an all-important close fit at the waistband. You can either go straight leg or tapered, with the option to roll at the bottom for either fashion priorities or fitting priorities (meaning you can get away with buying mom jeans a few inches too long for you, which is helpful).
As with most things, nothing beats the original. That's Levi's, Wrangler and Lee mom jeans made from thick, heavy denim which has been worn in to take the edge off and allow maximum flexibility in the fibres. They tend to sit either just below, level with or slightly above your belly button depending on the rise you go for. In my opinion the higher the rise the better.
