See what this Sheffield institution has to offer in August
Summer is almost over! Technically, you have just one month left until the slow decline of winter sets in. So quick, gather up your pals and draw up a plan of action. Unsure of what to do?
Well, Showroom has a solution for you; with their new CINE 26 membership you can get tickets for all their brilliant films just £4.50.
If great cinema isn’t incentive enough for you they also have an ever-changing range of delicious homemade ice cream, which you can also collect points for on your CINE 26 card. To be eaten in or out of the cinema – your choice.
Whilst you’re enjoying all your cheap cinema tickets keep your eyes peeled for the F-Rating stamp, which will start showing up on lots of the showings at the Showroom. F-Rating is a way to highlight women in films and will indicate whether the film was directed or written by a woman or stars a female lead in her own right. F-Rating is a great response to the lack of representation of women in cinema and gives the audience an opportunity to support these films.
So, what is there to watch? You could buckle up for a voyage through the life of legendary French oceanographer, environmentalist and filmmaker Jacques Cousteau and his son Phillipe in The Odyssey.
Elswhere, there’s Dunkirk, Detroit and Logan Lucky. Head to www.showroomworkstation.org.uk for more details on August’s showings.
