This year’s winners came together for a celebration at My Fathers Heart
Some of the biggest names on the Sheffield dining scene came together at My Fathers Heart to celebrate becoming Westside Restaurant of the Year Award winners.
The glitzy award ceremony, sponsored by Westside’s media partners My Fathers Heart, took place at Balwins Omega a fortnight ago, and all of the winners were invited to My Fathers Heart’s luxury showroom for an award winners' party. Robinsons Brewery of Stockport provided a fabulous selection of wines and prosecco for the ceremony and after party.
Representatives from the winning restaurants were in attendance, along with RMC Media directors, John Murphy and Martin Edwards, and award ceremony compere and Great British Bake Off contestant, Howard Middleton.
The Tickled Trout's Dave Cockerill was named Westside's young chef of the year.
Owner Chris Mapp and the team from The Tickled Trout were celebrating winning both Best Pub and Young Chef of the Year. Dave Cockerill beat three other contestants to win the title of Young Chef of the Year, after a MasterChef style cook-off, using the working kitchens at the My Fathers Heart showroom.
Other guests included staff from Brocco on the Park which won Best Hotel Restaurant, Rossi’s which won Best Italian, The Hyde Park Inn which won Best Family Friendly and a representative for The Front Room which won Best Newcomer.

The award winner’s party also included food created fresh in front of the guests by Bora demonstration chefs using My Fathers Heart’s stunning and fully-functioning display kitchens.

Jonathan Coulthard, owner of My Fathers Heart said: “We’ve got the winners of all the different categories of the Westside Restaurant of the Year Awards drinking wine and eating good food.
“They are in a beautiful showroom we are very proud of. It always amuses me, we have five kitchens downstairs – the perfect party venue since everyone ends up in the kitchen at parties.
“It’s been a lot of fun working with RMC Media on the Westside Restaurant Awards and we will definitely be collaborating on more events in the future – absolutely.”
