John Burkhill at the launch of his book, produced by RMC Media
Sheffield Town Hall turned bright green today for the official launch of charity fundraiser John Burkhill’s new autobiography.
The local legend, known as ‘the mad man with the pram’, arrived at the Pinstone Street venue resplendent in his trademark green wig and novelty foam hand – and pushing that famous pram, of course.
The 77-year-old was welcomed at the Lord Mayor’s Parlour by the Lord Mayor Councillor Denise Fox. Many of John’s closest friends were in attendance, including Richard Caborn, Peter Price and Macmillan Cancer Support’s Steve Loane, who all spoke in praise of John and his achievements.
Published by RMC Media, John’s book ‘Distance No Object: Sheffield’s Man With The Pram’ tells his unique story in his own words for the first time. All proceeds after costs from the sale of the book will be donated to Macmillan Cancer Support, as part of John’s amazing mission to raise £1 million for the charity.
‘Distance No Object: Sheffield’s Man with the Pram’ is available from Amazon priced at £9.99. To find a local stockist near you, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
